The Complete Guide to the Webflow Experts Program

Learn about the application process and perks of the Webflow Expert Certification. We'll also share whether it's worth it or not!

Are you looking to advance your no-code career and grow your professional network? Then, the Webflow Experts Program also referred to as the “Webflow Partners Program” is for you. Join today to expand your job opportunities and connect with other reputable developers.

In this article, we’ll discuss eligibility, the application process, and the perks of the Webflow Expert Certification. We’ll also share whether it’s worth it or not!

What is the Webflow Experts Program?

The Webflow Experts Program is a premier networking opportunity for Webflow developers. There are two categories of Webflow Experts: Professional Partners and Enterprise Partners. Professional Partners are freelancers, digital agencies, and consultants with small to midsize customers. Enterprise Partners use Webflow’s Enterprise Platform to provide services to larger-size customers.

To join, confirm that you meet the requirements, and then submit an application. Bonus, it’s free to join! Once accepted, Webflow will add your profile to a searchable database of Webflow Experts. Prospective clients can search this database based on services, budget, location, etc. Webflow will also match you directly with clients that may be a good fit. It’s an effortless way to generate leads for your business.

You can even start advertising your services as a “Webflow-endorsed partner.” Wahoo, fancy. You’ll also have access to priority training materials and support from Webflow. Plus, the chance to join a thriving community and connect with other Webflow Experts.

Note, the Webflow Experts Program is different from earning your Webflow Experts Certificate. The Webflow Experts Certificate is a free certification that anyone can achieve. It qualifies you to apply to the Webflow Experts Program. It does not mean that you will be automatically accepted to the program. It’s also different from Webflow’s Template Designer and Affiliate Programs.

What are the application requirements?

Keep reading to learn more about the application process and requirements.

Earn Your Webflow Experts Certificate

To earn your Webflow Experts Certificate, you’ll need to pass all four Webflow University Expert Certification Exams. This includes the Webflow 101 Certification, Layout Certifications - Level 01 and Level 02, and the CMS Certification. Webflow offers these exams and the certificate for free.

Before you take the exams, review Webflow University’s Webflow Experts Course. This free course will teach you everything you need to know to become a certified Webflow Expert. Not interested in an entire course? Pick and choose bite-sized lessons from Webflow University that focus on specific topics.

Did we mention that Webflow University is free? We also guarantee that you’ll laugh out loud at least once. Webflow has somehow managed to make its tutorials funny and engaging. It’s impressive.

You’ll need to score 88% or higher to pass each exam. Don’t worry though, you have three chances to take each exam and pass. Once you pass the exams (wahoo!), you will receive your Webflow Experts Certificate. It’s a digital certificate, so feel free to post it on your website or social media. You deserve the bragging rights!

It’s important to note that your certification status is only valid for 12 months from the issue date. After 12 months, you’ll have to retake the exams to maintain your status. Again, the Webflow Experts Certificate and renewal is completely free!

If you are part of a Webflow agency, only one person on your team needs to earn their Webflow Experts Certificate. For Enterprise Partnership, at least five people on your team need to earn certificates.

Develop Three Public Customer Websites

Develop and design three public customer websites adhering to Webflow’s portfolio rules. What are these rules? Your portfolio sites must be original websites that you built in Webflow. If you do use a template, it must be a template that you designed. Don’t worry if your portfolio sites are on a client’s Workspace, Webflow will still be able to view the sites.

Webflow will review these portfolio sites and score them based on a “grading rubric.” The actual grading rubric has been removed from Webflow’s website. But, you can still review the guidelines that will be used to score your sites. It’s a perk that Webflow shares these guidelines! Use it to your advantage. Check your portfolio sites against their criteria before you submit your application.

For Enterprise Partnership, you’ll need to develop and design at least one customer website on Webflow Enterprise.

Create a Webflow Landing Page

Showcase your Webflow expertise. Create a Webflow-specific landing page that shows your skills and offerings.

Accept the Partner Agreement

Read and accept Webflow’s Partner Program Agreement. An easy read, and a quick click on “I agree” when you sign-up for the Webflow Experts Program.

Upgrade Your Workspace Plan

If you’re reading this article, you’ve likely already upgraded your free Starter Workspace Plan. If not, you’ll need to upgrade to the Freelancer, Agency, or Enterprise Workspace Plans to join the program.

Add-On Enterprise Partner Requirements

Besides the above, Webflow Enterprise Partnership includes a few other requirements. Keep reading to learn more!

  • Refer at least two Enterprise projects to Webflow per year.
  • Create and publish a minimum number of Enterprise project case studies. The “minimum number” isn’t specified, so we’re assuming it’s one case study per year.
  • Work with a Webflow sales engineer to review a customer website.
  • Partake in at least one comarketing activity per year. This could be a blog post, event, or other mutually beneficial action.
  • Promote sales. Access Webflow sales materials, and share your agency collateral with the Webflow Sales Team.

We will admit some of these extra requirements are vague. If you have any questions or concerns about Enterprise Partnership, ask Webflow. It’s worth it, and Webflow’s customer service is top-notch.

How do I apply?

The application process is easy! First, check that you meet the requirements we discussed above. Then answer a few quick questions, and submit your portfolio websites for review. That’s it!

Webflow will email you and let you know if you’ve been accepted to the program and the next steps. When will you hear back? Right now, Webflow is experiencing a high volume of applications. The estimated wait time to hear back is currently up to eight weeks.

What are the benefits of the Webflow Experts Program?

The most obvious benefit is you can refer to yourself as a certified Webflow Expert. It’s definitely a nice marketing and ego boost. Other benefits include:

Partner Portal Access. Track your prospective job opportunities and partnership status through Webflow’s Partner Portal. You can also access training materials here.

Job Prospects. As we mentioned earlier, Webflow will add your profile to a database of Webflow Experts. Prospective clients can search the database for a developer that meets their needs. Or, clients can complete a project form and match directly with you. The matchmaking tool will match you to clients based on various criteria. Think availability, services offered, etc.

We know what you’re thinking. What’s the difference between the Workspace Creator profile and Webflow Experts profile? These profiles are similar, but the Webflow Experts profile includes extra information. You can add your availability, rates, industry specialties, and services. The Webflow Experts profile also includes a “Hire Me” button. 🙂

Make sure that your Webflow Experts profile is current and up-to-date. You don’t want to miss out on any work opportunities! Enterprise Partners will also be eligible for direct client introductions from the Webflow Sales Team.

We will say it’s important to set realistic expectations. Think of the Webflow Experts Program as another tool in your marketing toolbox. Use it to generate high-quality leads for yourself or your agency’s Webflow services. It's a great resource, but don't forget there are a lot of resources to find your next Webflow developer job.

Partner Commission. You’ll receive a partner commission for being a Webflow Expert. Professional Partners will receive 20% of self-serve subscriptions. Enterprise Partners will receive 10% of the first-year Annual Contract Value (ACV). You can read the details in Webflow’s Partner Program Agreement.

Networking Opportunities. Join a dedicated Slack channel to chat with Webflow staff and other Webflow Experts.

Preferred Training. Access sales and product training sessions designed for Webflow Experts.

Priority Support. Have a question about your Webflow project? Ask! If you need specific technical support, you’ll have access to office hours hosted by a Technical Partner Success Team Member. Enterprise Partners will also have access to a dedicated Partnership Manager.

Comarketing Options. Take part in comarketing opportunities that are beneficial for you and Webflow! Enterprise Partners will also qualify to sponsor Webflow events.

Exclusive Webflow Updates. You’ll gain access to Webflow company and product roadmap updates before these updates are public. Bonus, Webflow will also give you priority access to beta features. Enterprise Partners can also join trials with Webflow prospects that are evaluating the Enterprise platform.

Is the Webflow Expert Certification worth it?

Yes! There’s no reason not to apply for your Webflow Expert Certification. We know that your work speaks for itself. But, the “stamp of approval” of being a recognized Webflow Expert may boost your business. Other benefits include priority access to Webflow news and support, community networking, and more!
